Session 02: A Comfortable Journey

After a short delay caused by a particularly turbulent warp storm, the Provocateur plunged ably into the Maw, making for the Koronus expanse. While on a routine position checking stop at The Battleground, a known landmark common for such stops, the ship’s sensor’s picked up a distress signal.
With bold audacity, Lady Captain Viteri ordered that it be investigated at flank speed, and soon it was revealed to be a pilgrim ship, The Penitent Traveler. Further investigation revealed the ship’s Engines had been damaged, along with its communication arrays, and the Provocateur moved to assist them.
However, as the ship approached, a small unknown object emerged from the debris fields, speeding towards her at torpedo like speeds. After a failure to respond to hails, the ship’s turrets were powered up just in time to shoot down the bogey. But even as the dust cleared, two more signatures appeared on the auger screens, cruising towards the Explorers. A pair of raider vessels, pirates in a wolfpack. It was a trap!
Absorbing the first salvo of fire, the Provocateur sped towards both assailants, the two parties passing each other in the silence at great speeds. After an unsuccessful negotiation attempt, firing commenced, and a lucky hit knocked out the shield generator of one of the raiders. Reacting quickly, the nimble Provocateur was able to swing its prow about in an arc that would have sheared a larger vessel in half, and followed the undefended enemy, pounding it with lance and macrobattery, and running a series of devastating teleportarium assisted hit and run raids for nearly an hour as the second pirate attempted to reposition itself. The first enemy crippled and bleeding fuel and atmosphere, the Rogue Trader swung about with adroit nimbleness, and engaged in ahead to head gun duel with the second ship. Though suffering damage to the hull and crew, the Viteri Dynasty came out on top, crippling the pirate’s maneuvering thrusters, and causing them to charge past the Provocateur at flank speed, vanishing into the debris fields before a proper chase could be given. With one target out of sight, the Explorers turned their attention to the remaining pirate, crippled and limping away. Closing quickly with the prey, the crew boarded the maimed vessel, and overwhelmed the shattered crew.
With the crew surrendered, and only the locked down bridge remaining, the explorers can only dream of what exciting adventures they can compliment with this ravaged hulk of a raider, and several thousand eternally grateful pilgrims.

Session 01: Arrival at Port Wander
DESTINY

Having been introduced to each other at the rechristening of the Provocateur, the new and untested representatives of the Viteri Dynasty set off towards Port Wander, the gateway to the Koronus Expanse. Intent on first consolidating any resources left by her predecessor, Lady Captain Caelia Viteri made no secret of the Provocateur’s arrival at the Port.
Unfortunately, Lord Captain Peripherus Viteri seemed to have left little in the way of assets for his successors. The search for Viteri resources, however, was saved when the ship was hailed with dynastic ciphers by an aging Voidfarer who claimed to have served with Peripherus’s Grandfather, Korlann. The man, named Orbest Drey, claimed to have a package for the Captain, and upon being met in a dive bar in the Court of the Dead market square, revealed it to be genetically sealed canister that had been waiting for a member of the dynasty to answer his hail for decades. The canister contained an astropathic mnemolith stone purported to contain evidence that could lead to the location of the Righteous Path, a lost treasure ship from the time of the Angevin Crusade.
However, before the explorers were able to complete their investigation of the stone, they were interrupted by a cybernetic Raven diving down from the rafters far above to grab it from their hands. The explorers were almost taken by surprise, but the extraordinary reaction time of Arch Militant Linus, and the observant nature of High Seneschal Zool ensured that surprise could not be maintained, and the bird found itself under fire even before the assassins that emerged from the crowded market with autoguns.
After a rapid firefight that saw a dozen bystanders dead by gun and javelin, 5 of the 6 assailants lay dead in the dust, the raven lay shattered and abandoned in the square, and the stone was back in the hands of the Explorers. The Arbitrators moved in to mop up the scene, promptly arresting Echo and taking him to be incinerated. The Powers of the warrant allowed the rest of the explorers to evade any efforts that justice might have made to contain their ambitions, and they took the surviving attacker back to the ship.
Despite the unhelpfulness of the arbitrators, multiple sources of investigation confirmed that the attackers came from the Fel Dynasty, another rogue trader house. Further investigations revealed that one of their frigates was still in the area and had been sending shuttles to and from the station for weeks. A quick Augury later and a suspicious frigate was revealed to be hovering just outside the station’s control zone. The frigate promptly made preparations to jump away from the station, and was able to do so before any action could be taken.
Meanwhile, Echo was rescued from incineration by teleportation, and First Astropath Vorgen was able to read the contents of the mnemolith, and discovered it to be far from a complete map. After consulting with Navigator Aleene, it was concluded that a cartographer with knowledge of the Expanse was needed. One was promptly found, and Master Journ was very willing to help the Explorers with their needs, pending that they do him the small favor of delivering some questionably legal texts to a contact of his in Footfall. For a discount, of course.
The deal was made, the map was gotten, and with a destination in mind, the Provocateur slipped from its berth and made course for the Maw, the deadly passage into the Expanse, making a smooth translation into warpspace.

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
